I find it is easier to check off lists and enter into life with my family as a Martha, while my heart longs to be present like Mary at the feet of Jesus. This home I am blessed to make on a daily basis often gets overlooked when my heart is wanting to make room for others, give hospitably to others; rather, than make room for the little people under my stead.
When I’m busy creating food for others, or cleaning to create order for myself, I forget that Jesus calls me as their mother to open my wings and gather them in. To embrace the mess, the bickering, the chaos, the unpredictability.
Come join me today at Mom Heart as I share on this messy hospitality.
Beautiful post on MomHeart, Kamille. I agree with you about it being easier to check off boxes and get things done than to actually take the time to make memories. I loved what you said about taking pictures mentally of what is happening with your kids. You are a wonderful example to me.
